LIBRARY DISPLAY CASES

Guidelines for Using Display Cases

The library has two display cases that are available to feature items from Murray residents and organizations. Items displayed should be of historic, artistic, or social interest to other members of the Murray community.

An installation may use one or two cases.

  • Each case has four shelves, 18 in. (deep) X 46.5 in. (wide.)
  • The top three shelves have 14 inches of clearance, while the bottom shelf has 17 inches of clearance. Shelves cannot be moved to accommodate larger installations.
  • The opening to fill the shelves is 22 inches wide.

If requested, the library will provide easels and 24 labels and acrylic label holders (business card size) that may be used to identify individual pieces. Objects may not be hung, and no adhesives may be used in or on the cabinets. One 8.5 X 11-inch sign may be used to explain the display and identify the displayer, with a name and social media handle or website. No sales may be made at the library.

The time span of any community member’s display will be one month.

Use of the display cases is at the Murray City Library’s discretion.
